What we do

We bring expert Sofrim and Batim Machers to Shuls and Yeshivas to enlighten and empower communities about the significance of Tefillin.

1.

Before Shacharis the necessary number of tables are meticulously arranged. Upon them one finds essential tools, special Tefillin paint, laminated snapshots capturing pivotal moments,  letters of approbation, informative material and other important paraphernalia.

2.

Near the end of Davening a member of our staff addresses the attendees for a few moments. He explains the importance of the event and passionately urges them to participate in this invaluable opportunity.

3.

After each minyan the Mispallelim, still wearing their Tefillin, line up at the various tables manned by our Sofrim. Quickly and efficiently each person’s Tefillin are meticulously examined. When necessary, the up to 20 potential issues affecting the Kashrus of the Tefillin and their placement are rectified.

4.

Our program is offered at no cost to the participant *. However, we rely on the host Shuls and Yeshivas to contribute towards the expenses associated with compensating our outstanding professional Sofrim and Batim Machers.

* Payment for any additional, extensive necessary external repairs or requests for internal examination of the Parshiyos are the responsibility of the participant.

The Power of One

Recognizing a widespread problem is common, but taking action is rare. Reb Avrohom Schachter, our founder, discerned the widespread deficiency in proper Tefillin observance. He decided to address it head-on by establishing an entire apparatus to remedy the situation. The Tefillin Awareness Project – Hanacha K’Halacha – is dedicated to ensuring proper observance of this vital Mitzvah. Nearly two decades later, thanks to his initiative, over one hundred thousand individuals across the spectrum of Observant Jewry now perform the vital Mitzvah of Tefillin correctly.
